Who we are
Huntsville AL Storm Shelters is a website that explains home tornado protection for people in Huntsville, Madison and the rest of Madison County, and passes shelter requests to independent installers who do that work locally. We are not a shelter manufacturer, dealer or builder.
Why the site exists
Buying a shelter means sorting out standards, slabs, tax paperwork and installers all at once, usually right after a scary storm. We put the sourced facts in one place, with links back to FEMA, the National Weather Service, the Alabama EMA and the Department of Revenue, so you can check us.
When you call or send the form
Your town and a short description go to an independent installer who covers your area. You deal with them directly from then on: the site visit, the quote, the contract, the install and any warranty are theirs. We take no payment from you and add nothing to their price.
Things we don't do
- Sell, deliver or install shelters, or pour slabs.
- Set prices, collect money or guarantee anyone's work.
- Hold an Alabama Home Builders Licensure Board license, since we don't build. Under Alabama law, residential construction or improvement work costing more than $10,000 generally requires one, and you can check any builder on the board's license lookup.
- Decide whether your shelter qualifies for the state tax credit. That is AEMA's call.
Calls to this site may be recorded so each request reaches the right installer.
